The greatest artist of the 20th century is trim and muscular at the age of 70. Daily swims off the Côte d’Azur help keep him vigorous.
When he’s not at the pottery in Vallauris, reinventing the art of ceramics, or working furiously on his latest mural, you might see him presiding at the bullring, wearing this shirt.
It’s a favorite of his. He borrowed it from the local fishermen (there’s an almost identical shirt in his Night Fishing at Antibes).
I can’t promise you this shirt will increase your creative output. But as the man himself once said, “Everything you can imagine is real.”
Vallauris Shirt (No. 1192), for men and women. Substantial cotton jersey with long sleeves, spirited curled boatneck collar, 5/8" stripes positioned (as in the original) to leave your shoulders free for action.
Colors: Navy on Natural, Blue or Red stripes on White.
Sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL.

A Day with Picasso (No. 1211), by Susanne Pfleger. 28 pp. of photos and introductory text, excellent for children. Cover shows 1952 Doisneau photograph of the master with stubby, four-pointed rolls made by bakers in Vallauris at the ends of his sleeves; they became known locally as “Picassos.”
