“You Savage, Untamed She-Devil…I Adore You!”
—The Jungle Princess (1936)
Perhaps you recall the scene in The Jungle Princess where Ulah (Dorothy Lamour) whips the piano cloth off the piano and creates an impromptu sarong?
Her inventiveness did not desert her after she and Ray Milland moved to Westport.
While relaxing on the patio with her pet tiger, for example (she yawns…he yawns), she has a brilliant idea. Reaches for the big white phone beside the lounge chair, dials up her dressmaker.
In no time at all, she has slipped into this fetching new number and is mixing up a batch of Mai Tais when her Great White Hunter arrives home.
He suggests they skip that stuffy dinner at the Explorers Club.
He has a few other suggestions, too.
