The Lamb.

The Lamb.

A symbol of innocence said to be found often in old monastic inns. As noted in the Spectator in April, 1710, one could tell the humor of a proprietor by the sign that hung over his door: “A surly, choleric fellow generally makes choice of a BEAR, as men of milder dispositions frequently live at the LAMB." Hand painted on metal, two sides, with wood frame and eye hooks for hanging.

The Lamb (No. PS353). Dimensions: 38.25" H x 36" W x 1.75" D. Shipping: $120.
