Shanghai Girl T.

Tan

Art Déco skyscrapers going up. Nightclubs that outdid Berlin. More cars than the rest of China combined.

Shanghai in the 1930s was amazing, and now it’s even more so.

The Shanghai Girl is back.

This time she owns her own apartment in a futuristic high-rise on the east side of the river, very independent, wears sober business suits to her bank job on the Bund.

Weekends she likes to work on her blog, dine and dance in the trendy Old French Concession area; she draws the line at hip-hop.

This is the kind of top she wears then.

Shanghai Girl T (No. 1911). Stretchy cotton blend with short sleeves, rounded V-neck. Ribbon and Antique White lace trim at bottom. Wonderful mixes of vintage Chinese floral prints and colors.

(She advises you to avoid Judy’s Too and Bobo’s unless you really know what you’re doing.)
