"Burley" Vintage Baseball Bat
A Past Time.
There were some discussions about the potency of Major League baseballs this year (something about their uncanny power to travel long distances). That sort of talk didn’t occur in the “dead ball” era (pre-Babe Ruth). Fields—like Ebbets—were enormous, runs were scarce, and bats were hefty. There was also something wonderfully bespoke about the game back then.
Our “Burley” Vintage Baseball Bat (No. 6416) is a reminder of a past time. Crafted from kiln-dried northern white ash, it measures 35 inches with a substantial weight of roughly 40 ounces. The knob tapers to a subtle flare before transitioning into the unique ball-style finial that was incorporated in the early 1900s to balance the bat (people will ask).
All markings are burned into the surface, and the bat is stained and hand-polished to a furniture-like finish (a light rub with Danish Oil or a coat of quality wax will keep the bat pristine for years to come). Due to natural variations in grain, average weights are approximate and may vary with humidity levels. Made in USA.
