New Era Blazer
$298
The New Hire.
While I wait for my contact in the lobby, I observe a portrait of the Founder and CEO—she’s sporting a navy blazer, arms crossed, commanding, poised.
A man walks into the building (fifteen minutes late yet unconcerned) and introduces himself. This is Charles. I’m told that he and someone named Rich now run things.
We enter company HQ—cubicle walls are being stripped, communal tables await assembly. Charles didn’t expect this. The boss who “doesn’t run things” is in the middle of the room, directing traffic in a cream blazer that harkens back to an era when female CEOs were not the norm. The chic, empowered subtext at play here is not lost on me.
I love her in this blazer.
The cuffs are pinned back (I can’t tell if it’s by design or if she rolled them up). Her neck is framed beautifully by the collarless neckline. She pauses and nods, in my direction, mid-delivery, “…and from today forward, we’re going to be embracing fresh takes around here.”
On that note.
“Charles, get Rich. I want to see you two in my office.”
Boom.
New Era Blazer (No. 6203). Wool and poly blend with full satin lining and head-turning collarless neckline. Tailored fit via the vertical shaping and yoke seams (front and back). Antique brass shank buttons with crest design. Patch pockets with button closure on each hip. Makes hostile takeovers (or take backs) seem glamorous. Imported.
