Browning’s Shearling Range Coat
Details
Shearling.
We’re just in from a ride up Buffalo Horn Pass in Tom Miner Basin.
Browning hangs this handsome shearling coat on a rack by the door.
Then, two heavy pours of bourbon and we sink into a pair of leather club chairs at least as old as the house, which his grandfather built in 1902.
He gestures toward a scatter of long-range shooting trophies pulling duty as
bookends to miles of old books.
“My father’s. Held a couple records for almost 50 years.”
It costs me nothing here to admit I covet both the cabin and the coat. The chairs, too, while we’re tallying the score.
It was within my power to replicate one of them, and you see it here.
Browning’s Shearling Range Coat (No. J7815). Luxuriant warmth meets backcountry style in this handsome shearling coat meticulously reproduced from an early-1900s ranch coat. The shearling is made more interesting by its high pile curl with an uneven texture. Handsome leather taped seams. Two generous exterior pockets. High-pile shearling interior. Bound cuffs. Shawl collar. Leather knot buttons with stay buttons for reinforcement. Imported.
