Ebonizing wood involves a masterful and food-safe vinegar and iron-based process that protects the wood—whether you use it for serving salad or to display a few dozen Honeycrisps. Due to its high tannin content, oak is especially receptive to the ebonizing process, which leaves each bowl beautifully dark with a hint of the natural oak grain. At 16 ¼ inches across and 6 inches deep, the bowl is a substantial addition to your dinner table. The makers recommend hand washing with gentle soap. Made in Canada.
