USAF Cadet Parka
Details
USAF Cadet Parka
Looking good while also looking capable is one of those sartorial tricks that certain men seem to pull off with ease.
How do they make it look so easy?
Helps to start with military-inspired anything.
Gets easier still if you dive into the USAF archive and reproduce something athletic-minded and substantial like this cadet parka. Made from heavyweight felted wool, it’s a time- and weather-tested piece of a cadet’s uniform kit.
The kind of jacket that when you put it on makes you feel like you have important things to accomplish. Reminds you of your mission.
Whether that mission is landing a $200 million aircraft or an entirely earthbound trip to the woodshed for an armload of split oak for the fire.
USAF Cadet Parka (No. 6730). Exceedingly warm. Conveys more confidence than is strictly called for (but is always welcome). Thigh length for extra warmth. Center front zipper opens into a wide sailor-style collar with a zipper running along the underside of the collar. The two collar edges zip together to form a hood. Modified ribbed storm cuffs keep out cold and rain. Reinforced elbow patches. Slanted welt pockets at waist. Imported.
