Our Marine Corps men and women are always thinking of new ways to carry their ponchos, rations, and shells. During the Second World War, the P-44 Monkey Pants, complete with a “butt pack” (what my Naval Officer friend called it), was born. Makes sense. It’s easier to grab stuff near your hands than to sling off a backpack or have someone behind you, who’s supposed to be watching your back, preoccupied with actually digging into your back. Time saved is time earned.
P-44 Monkey Pants (No. 7191). Inspired by the authentic WWII P-44 USMC HBT pants. Strong and handsome herringbone twill (like the originals). Five buttons at hidden button fly with interior security button inside front waist. Has belt loops but also interior suspender buttons. Two extremely ample (aka large) bellows pockets at front with flap and double-button closure (pockets extend around sides). Large bellows pocket at back with flap and three-button closure (your butt pack). All buttons are aged brass. Be ready for questions. Imported.
