1910 Vintage Blouse

Then and Now
If you believe in previous lives, you’ve seen this blouse before.
On Edith Wharton in her drawing-room in Lenox. On fashionable women in New York who could afford to order 50 at once (no two alike).
You saw it on sporting women who found the relaxed fit to be perfect for mountaineering, golf, or archery. Young working women who joined the workforce around the turn of the 20th century wore it with dark skirts to new positions as sales clerks or teachers.
In the present day, you see this blouse on women who look impossibly good in everything. They (you) wear it untucked, with turquoise and silver jewelry, with jeans or jodhpurs and tall boots. It looks similarly captivating with a long suede skirt, ankle boots, and pearls.
Either way, it looks effortless. Refined, easy, classic… and impossibly good.
1910 Vintage Blouse (No. 5790) in 100% cotton voile with waist tie (tunneled at back) and French seam finishes. Intricate dyed-to-match lace on the collar, center front bib insert, and cuffs. Six trocas buttons down left front. Three stacked buttons at cuff. Cotton voile lining. Pintuck detail at shoulders. Imported.
