Aran Cardigan

Not Exactly Cozy.

This is not to say this richly cabled cardigan isn't exceedingly comfortable. Just don't be alarmed if your ambitions go beyond the wingback and the roaring fire.

Before the shawl collar was hijacked by the absurd notion that it belonged to grumpy old men, the dude, and bumbling professors, it lived a life of rakish action and celebrity.

The original sweater of "leisure" was defined by an era when leisure meant driving your Jaguar XKSS on the harrowing curves of Mulholland or steering a cigarette boat with more cylinders than a Ferrari. It's eating prime rib while ashing your Viceroy at thirty thousand feet en route to Monte Carlo. (Unhealthy? If you say so.) It's falling in love with your costar and keeping it out of the press.

It's not exactly cozy.

But that's exactly why you wear it.

Aran Cardigan (No. 6626). Classic Aran-style cabling in a light but warm cotton slub. Shawl collar. Button-front placket. Patch pockets. Ribbed hem and cuffs. Despite the thrilling upbringing, still totally acceptable while doing nothing at all. Imported.
