Bow Tuxedo Blouse
Yes, the French get credit for it in some quarters, but it started in Florence (influenced, to be sure, by the Ancient Greeks).
And the creative explosion still seems to be going on there.
How else can you explain this exquisite formal, not-so-formal, curve accentuating blouse that’s as at home at Cipriani’s in Venice as it is at Benkay in Paris, or at Elaine’s in New York City.
Also a nice surprise under a casual blazer, wandering through the Uffizi Gallery in Florence admiring the famous bronze Perseo by Cellini.
While someone nearby is admiring you.
Chic when chic is called for; casual when you want to be.
The Bow Tuxedo Blouse (No. 2844). Found, of course, on the Via dei Calzaiuoli in Florence, Italy. Mostly cotton with a little stretchy stuff for movement. Contrasting pleated fabric with a sturdy 16 SPI (stitches per inch). Center front zipper closure. The three rows of “bows” at the midsection make it distinctly feminine.
