Fireside Fair Isle Sweater
A useful skill, knowing how to build a good fire. In the wilderness, at home, on the beach.
You’ll need good tinder, of course. Kindling, too. Dry wood, split to the width of your forearm, give or take.
I like to stack the logs criss-cross, in a log cabin pattern.
Set match to tinder. Ah, there it goes.
If you’re not already wearing this sweater, slip it on. Appreciate the ultra soft feel. Settle in. Pour a dram. Congratulate yourself on a well-built fire. And for owning such a fine sweater, too, born of cliff and croft and imbued with the spirit of rocky moorlands.
You have a knack for these things.
