A matter of “latitude adjustment.”
The rule of thumb is that wearing seersucker shifts a man’s personal climate 5 to 10 degrees north, somewhere between Chattanooga and Dayton.
(There’s also a subtle matter of longitude adjustment. Seersucker’s famous vertical stripes make the average man look tallish, a tall man look really tall. Puts a spring in your step.)

Milk and Sugar Seersucker Shirt (No. J8188). Made here in 100% cotton, ¼” wide Indian seersucker. The word comes from the Persian phrase shir-o-shakar which means “milk and sugar” to describe the alternating textures. Our version uses an exceptionally breezy, open weave version of the cloth, making it softer and comfier after the first wash onwards. Button-down collar. One button-through chest pocket.
