Product Story

Artistry of Western Horsemanship.

The Bozeman Stampede at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds is a rodeo where the cutting competition garners the most interest from those who know.

They know it requires a precision partnership between man and horse built on trust that is difficult to create and almost impossible to maintain without daily interactions.

In this event, a rider, with minimal cues, guides his horse with an invisible communication that began two centuries ago when cutting successfully was the difference between starving to death and living to fight another day.

As I walked by the box, amidst the dust and clamor as a young rider on his horse prepped his grip, I couldn’t help but notice the man standing next to the rider's horse. It must have been the father.

He has a calm confidence about him, almost as if he was trying to guide his son’s emotions with minimal cues. He was wearing this blazer, with the dust flying and flies and dirt all around, I watched him calm his son. It was a testament to the artistry of Western horsemanship.
