I have a fascination with ripstop technology. Chalk it up to the fact that you can own pants made out of the same material as your parachute.
These are active, versatile pants. Do some work in them. Get them dirty. Wash them (repeatedly). The crosshatch, ripstop pattern will grow more pronounced with each wash, giving the pants an almost three-dimensional look. They also go with almost everything you own.
They won't rip because the fabric is woven using a special reinforcing technique that makes them resistant to rips and tears. The only downside to these pants is that the people who see you wearing them will think you can do things like repair a lawnmower carb, fell an 80-foot oak with pinpoint placement, and snap a perfect chalk line for laying cedar shakes.
