Simple, Powerful.

No designer ever stepped forward to take credit for it.

It’s as if the guys at Notre Dame, say, walked into the locker room one day sometime in the 1930s and found a pile of them had just sprung up overnight on the cement floor, smelling of disinfectant, and each man instinctively picked out one that more or less fit, and never gave it a second thought.

I kept seeing this sweatshirt so often in old photos of college athletic teams that I had to get my hands on one. Took some doing, but I wanted it to be right. A simple, powerful, somewhat mysterious thing.

Who’s that in the mirror… you, or George “Bad News” Cafego?

The Freedom Sleeve After-Hoodie (No. J8262) gets its name from the saddle raglan arm construction with rib underarm gussets that used to come standard in a sweatshirt. 100% cotton French terry in two contrasting colors. Bias cut rib collar, cuffs, and hem. Two hand warmer pockets. Self-lined after-applied hood, as they did in the ‘30s and ‘40s when hoods were stitched on after everything else was constructed. Natural color drawcord with stitched ends. V-insert at front neck. Imported.
