I'm not sure the trench coat is the actual preferred coat of spies or that's just what we see in movies.
I would venture to say that Nancy Wake, known as the "White Mouse" because of her ability to evade the Gestapo, might hesitate to wear this water-repellent trench, even in a downpour. "Too flashy," she'd say.
Or would it cause just enough misdirection to secure the microfilm?
Even still, the opposite of invisible, the definition of standing out, may not be a smart tactic, when remaining in the shadows is of the utmost importance.
