Mercator K55K Knife (No. J8334). The knife American GIs brought home after World War II to America where it became famous under the name "Black Cat Knife." The designation K55K means "K" for Kaufmann (the original manufacturer), "55" for Hochstrasse 55 (the original company address) and "K" for the symbol cat. The embossing is press-stamped, and then and after powder coating, painted by hand as it has been for decades. 8" total length. Carbon steel blade and spring. Steel handle. Carefully handmade and sharpened in Germany.
